What We Mean by Outreach

Outreach is support you access from where you are. You do not have to leave home, stay at our shelter, or be in a crisis right now to use it.

Our outreach workers meet you where you are. We work with women who are currently in difficult situations at home, women who have recently left, women who are rebuilding, and women who just want information.

Outreach sessions are one-on-one and by appointment. We can meet you in our office or come to you in the community.

All outreach services are free and confidential.

Domestic Violence Awareness and Support

Not every situation looks the same. Abuse can be physical, emotional, financial, or a combination. It often starts small and builds over time.

We can help you:

  • Understand what is happening in your relationship
  • Know your rights and your options
  • Connect with local and provincial resources
  • Make a plan that fits your situation

You do not have to be ready to leave to talk to us. We are here to help you think things through.

Call 780-827-1791 (24 hours) or 780-827-3776 (Mon-Fri 9am-4pm)

Self-Esteem and Healthy Relationships

We offer one-on-one sessions to help you reconnect with your own sense of worth and think through what healthy relationships look like. Sessions are available in our office or in the community, by appointment.

Topics include:

  • Recognising patterns of control and unhealthy relationship dynamics
  • Setting and communicating boundaries
  • Building self-trust and confidence
  • Understanding your rights in relationships

Available to any woman in the community. No referral needed. Free. Confidential.

Anger Management and Emotional First Aid

Dealing with an unsafe or stressful home situation puts enormous pressure on every part of you. These one-on-one sessions focus on managing stress and emotional overwhelm.

We cover:

  • Understanding anger responses and what drives them
  • Practical techniques for calming yourself in the moment
  • Emotional first aid for acute stress
  • Coping with anxiety

Sessions are by appointment, available in our office or in the community. Free. Confidential.

Budgeting and Financial Basics

Financial control is one of the most common tools of abuse. If you are rebuilding your independence, or working to understand your finances for the first time, we can help.

Our budgeting support covers basic financial literacy, understanding income and expenses, and connecting with local income support programmes.

Coping with Anxiety

Living in an unsafe situation affects your mind and body. Many women describe persistent anxiety, difficulty sleeping, and a constant state of alertness.

We offer one-on-one sessions specifically on anxiety: what it is, what it does to you, and practical ways to manage it day to day.
