A calm place to rest while you decide what comes next
Leaving is hard, and you do not have to have it all figured out first. Our shelter gives you a safe, private place to stay, with people who understand, so you can catch your breath and think clearly about the next step. There is no cost, and what you share stays confidential.
There is no address to find
For everyone's safety, we do not publish our location, and there is no door to walk up to. Everything begins with a phone call. When you call our crisis line, we make the arrangements with you, privately.
Who we shelter
We welcome women fleeing domestic violence, with or without their children. If you are unsure whether your situation qualifies, please call anyway. We would rather talk it through with you than have you wonder alone.
What is provided
- A safe, private place to stay
- Meals and everyday essentials
- Emergency transportation where it is needed
- Someone to talk to, and practical support and advocacy
- Help connecting to other services, at your pace
How long you can stay
The shelter is for short-term stays, usually a few days, while we work with you on what comes next. If you need more time or a longer-term plan, we will help you find it. No one is ever turned out without support.
How to access shelter
Call our 24-hour crisis line at 780-827-1791. A trained support worker answers, day or night. There is no form to fill out first and no walk-up intake, just a conversation, on your terms.
What to expect when you arrive
When you arrive, we will sit down together for a short, gentle intake so we understand how best to support you and keep everyone in the house safe. We will explain anything before we ask it. You are never rushed.
Children are welcome
If you have children, they come with you. We make space for them to feel safe too, with calm surroundings and support suited to their age.
House guidelines, in plain terms
We keep a few shared guidelines, less a list of rules and more about how we keep everyone safe and comfortable together. We will walk through them with you when you arrive, so nothing comes as a surprise.
After your stay
Leaving the shelter does not mean leaving our support. Our outreach team can stay in touch, help you settle, and keep walking beside you as you rebuild. You set the pace.
Worried someone is watching your internet use?
If you think your device or browsing may be monitored, please call us at 780-827-1791 instead of using a contact form. Our crisis line is the safest way to reach us.
